"Papparazzi" photos by Carl Størmer from the streets of Oslo around 1890 of ordinary people and the academic part of Oslo. The photographer is using a small spy camera hidden on the inside of his jacket.

  • @kafenwar yes Hamsun wandered these streets. This is the city and approximately same time period (this may be somewhat later) of the story in "Hunger".

  • I love how the hidden camera captures people in the same kind of moods as regular handheld cameras today. Aside from the clothing, they act just like regular people in conversation today, devoid of the "serious" face everyone got when they were taken photographs of by regular photographers.

  • That's exactly what I was fascinated about when I saw it. I've got part 2/3 and 3/3 on my computer back home. I'll upload them when I get there.
