All arm, no hip integration in the strikes. This is what youd expect of someone with no traditional kobudo training, all flash.

Apparently you've never seen hip integration done right.

"Traditional Kobudo" is a path to "become one" with your tool, not the only path.

Good instructions, correct practice, and lots of love for your arts will get you there some day.

It depends how you look at it. JKD is the concept. If you have it in you then anything you do is JKD.

As for the physical parts of it, my nunchaku moves are from when I trained in JKD some 10-17 years ago while the pattern and foot works have more resemblance to Shotokan kata.

looks pretty flashy, but i dont think this is the old nunchaku kata. this looks like something bruce lee would do. Bruce lee was awesome w nunchaku but nunchaku is a japanese weapon. so there is no way bruce lee could have his own nunchaku kata. you have to be a master to develop your own kata.

Yeah, guess I've wasted 35 years learning to put my hips into the equation. Damn Matayoshi kobudo has apparently screwed me all up on the whole power generation subject. Suppose I should be using those little foam nunchaku too, huh?

I don't feel that there is anything about this that is Bruce Lee or Old. The Uniform maybe. definately not the foam chucks. OK form.

Lol of course it wont make a punching bag fly back but its creating momentum and speed for your initial strike and if you strike someone in the face with it or leg or body or arm or anywhere itll damage
