How famous Hollywood producer Rudy Langlais discover the Unburnable and decided to make the movie. Conversation is taken at the Nature Island Literary Festival on 8th August, 2009 at the UWI Open Campus, Dominica. Significant movies of Rudy Langlais: Love Crimes (1992) (producer), Sugar Hill (1993) (producer), The Hurricane (1999) (executive producer), Who Killed Atlanta's Children? (2000) (TV) (producer), Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story (2004) (TV) (executive producer).
I think the novel "Unburnable" perpetuates some negative stereotypes about women (especially women of color), namely, that their worth is measured by their sex organs, which is described in the opening paragraph of this disturbing novel. I think the women of the West Indies should produce quality literature which elevates women and not reduces them to nameless and faceless objects.
