Apple did lie! You DON'T need the earlier version of Leopard (10.5). So here I will show how to install Snow Leopard using the very cheap £25 ($29) "upgrade" disc!

  • I, even when absolutely certain that I'm right, will Google just in case. You should do the same, instead of flying off the handle. If there is any hope for you, you will apologize, but I don't see that happening. Oh well.

  • @wraithofwonder Wow you really can't let this go can you? Let me make this simple so that even you will understand. The description of the video clearly states the $29 upgrade disc. End of story! Then you come along with your bullshit and politics to prove a point when in reality that $9.95 version was never spoken of in the first place, hence my statement saying that this can be done (based on the $29 upgrade clearly mentioned in the description!).

  • If you missed that or forgot to wear your specs, I can't help that. But if it's guidance you need then let me dish some out for you; Google local Optometrists (as you're so familiar with the search engine). They may be able to help you.

  • Had you done a little more reading into the product that I was actually talking about instead of trying to be a smart-ass, you wouldn't look so stupid now would you? Now that you feel stupid for proving a worthless point you may leave. Close the door behind you and walk away with the little dignity you have left you pissant! Apology?...I'd rather wait for yours!

  • So it doesn't really work on all imac's? Or just it doesn't work with the install disc that comes with the newer macs? I have a new imac but I'm trying to upgrade the old ones with the disc that came with the new...

  • A HUGE thank you this, gave me the confidence to wipe my unstable 3 year old iMac . Following your instructions to the letter purchased the Snow Leopard disc mentioned and did a clean install backed up then went straight to Lion which is running oh so Sweetly :) Love it! my only niggle is that there is no Front Row which I used a lot for Movie Trailers. Was going to reinstall it from Leopard but went for Plex instead which knocks Front Row to the curb. Highly Recommend it and this Video! :)

  • Doing this same thing right now.....

  • @sochbat You cant do anything. The only option for you is to buy a newer mac.

  • Its my first time formatting and performing a clean installation on a Mac. This helped me alot. Thank you :)

  • So I'm doing this as I type. I hold option down, but I still get the chime. I don't know if that chime is irrelevant to the process or not, but I go ahead and do what you've stated. I format the drives and partition it accordingly, with GUID as well.

When I restart and hold option/alt down, no HD shows up. The only thing that appears is the disc.

I restart, and it prompts me "Mac OS X can't be installed on this computer."

Any clues to what I should do?

  • you da man

  • wadsworth constant applies...

add &wadsworth=1 the end to go to the important part
