Many of the comments here show that few have read Fuller's book "Interrupted Journey", or Friedman's "Captured". The fact is that she and her husband, Barney, recalled almost the same thing under hypnosis, and Barney had trouble accepting that it happened because he didn't believe in UFOs. Their doctor was a highly qualified specialist who was trying to cure Barney's anxiety issues that surfaced after the abduction. Before he was hypnotized, he didn't recall the abduction at all.

@nofooIn Yes, I'm currently re-reading "Interrupted Journey" and it's obvious that this was indeed a real event. Betty Hill was a down to earth women who turned out to be a very reliable witness and managed to keep her wits about her especially considering the circumstances. See the 1975 "The UFO Incident" "tv movie" starring James Earl Jones as Barney Hill for a truly riveting performance.
