You surly can see that some things are exercises. I was in the army and we used paint balls to train for door to door combat. So Aikido is like a microscope into the heart of movements and person hood. I have trained in Boxing and Jujitsu and kenpo and gungfu. all of these are easily recognized in the aikido advanced training which is the best way to train until advanced age. Some usually discredit others to make up for personal failures.Sorry you feel this way and hope you the best!

  • @MrEmoji I think I understand your doubts, I will tell you that Aikido has saved me from harm or death several times, falls from ladders, and once an attack in the night from a large dog. consider this, police train in Aiki, not MMA. MMA has rules, Aikido does not. MMA is competition. Aikido is not competetive ( except for Tomiki style).

An Aikidoka would not step into the cage given a choice, and would not seek victory.

  • 41:40 respect ;-)

  • @Volgeblanc I think that is pretty obvious!

  • @killerkravist Krav Maga is nothing but a mixture of many other styles, that have been battle tested. There is no way you can stop someone from shooting at you at distance.

  • How does she have a black belt if she isn't getting things right over there? I used to do karate and got to black belt but then my trainer moved away so I joined another place and If I had been at that other place the whole time I wouldn't have my black belt by now still. Seems some trainers give belts away much too easily these days.

  • she walks like a person who is full of themselves. That pretty much goes against everything in martial arts learning lol.

  • @Jericho11894 Doubtful, but Krav Maga does. It address, blunt objects, knives, guns, shotguns and rifles. Gun to front, side and back. Same while kneeling. rifle to chest, head, etc. That's just to name a few but it has you covered... Battle tested and proven for 60 years. Not many styles can claim let alone prove that. Though, it is not a spiritual style like Aikido which is appealing to many, understandably!

  • @aikigeorge3 Hey dude, I was curious, is there techniques in aikido to help with a hostage situation. I just had that thought because I wonder how an aikido martial artist would do in that predicament. Just wondering? because I quite like aikido for it's specialty in technique, I really do.

  • Thank you for your sincerity and willingness to share your Aikido adventure.

  • Aikido have been used by the police for close-quater combat by employing wrist locks/breaks as well as finger and eyes or throat strikes - practice is practice but in actual application ; aikido is a no-nonsense art much like its parent - jujitsu.

  • This video was more a collection of stereotypes about Japanese culture than about Aikido.
