@snowyriverlass That's exactly the problem - because curbs are expected in so many disciplines there are more riders using them incorrectly than correctly. Either because they don't have enough experience, or they weren't taught the right way in the first place. A year ago I would have swore that curbs were a crutch and anything could be done in a snaffle or less, but riding horses that respond properly to the curb and feeling the difference has totally changed my attitude!

On the subject of one-handedness, once upon a time ALL riders aspired to ride with one hand, to ride with two meant your horse wasn't trained enough. Likewise the double bridle (or the curb in some countries ) was what everyone used and only an untrained horse would wear a snaffle .

@nags2bitches Bravo! I think you need to look up every horse video where people are dissing curbs and the like and set them straight! I find it rather tedious when I read comment after comment dissing them just because people are too uneducated to understand them!
