I loved this show ! I have some old VHS tapes of episodes that I won't part with and I have an LP of the winners' album still - lol. Now I'm hooked on American idol and The Voice but this was the one that started it all.

Love this show.Someone need's to make a newer version of star search and the gong show and put them back on tv.Just a thought.

The competition was all fixed ahead of time. We stood in line overnight and the person I was with, who auditioned, has all of 1 minute to sing! Many years later we met a producer who told us the show was a farce!

Way before American Idol and all the other talent reality shows.....there was Star Search. RIP Ed, you will be truly missed.
