  • Miklos - do you know if that mouthpiece is similar to an old Giardinelli C1... :) Fantastic playing... :)

  • @DjediaMusic Sorry, I don't know the horn mouthpieces very well. This is my second mouthpiece and I have not played on Giardinelli.

  • you had me until the cadenza. why would you ever bring in excerpts from romantic horn pieces into a classical cadenza? the mozart thing was cute but strauss and dukas don't make sense. if you really couldn't think of anything else you should have just ended the cadenza. it doesn't have to be three minutes long.....any longer than the polekh or baumann gliere cadenzas is too long and just makes you look like a big showoff.

  • @hornplayer10 You're absolutly right. I hate too if somebody plays his/her kadenza out of the composer's style. By way of an excuse, it was an International Horn Festival in Csobánka (Hungary) in 1995 and the last concert in front of 500 hornists. I play this kind of kadenzas only on the Horn meetings, festivals etc. The hornists have enjoyed it very much. (me too)

  • I play this video on Schmid triple horn, high F with a quite big mouthpiece Tilz 211-B5.

Thank you all of your gratulations!

I'm so sorry then!! I didn't realize that was your audience..I feel stupid now lol. I'm they enjoyed it, after listening to again I loved it!

  • epic mustache

  • Hi Miki, sounds great as usual!!

    Cheers,

    Kristina

  • I liked the powerful performance and that terrific Schmid horn. Excellent high range and good lip trills. The cadenza was a bit silly, but impressive. I see a chance to round out your playing by introducing some delicacy and lightness into the staccato passages (for example). Your playing in those sections is (of course) precise and technical, but it comes through as a bit heavy and percussive. Brush it with a feather and don't hit it with a hammer.

  • @nagyhorn

gags are always appreciated at those festivals and camps of course! had i known that was the environment, maybe even heard a few laughs, I would understood the purpose behind that. Sorry about the not so nice comment lol. You truly are a fine player!! I would love to hear some more of your recordings!

  • amazing.
