The U.S.S. Enterprise crew comes across a planet with a pre-industrial civilization that seems to be sending radio transmissions into space. While rendering aid to a crippled courier ship in orbit of the planet, Captain Kirk and his senior staff wonder if the two situations are related.

This film entitled "And Let the Heavens Fall" was written, directed, animated and produced by Curt Danhauser and is the first new animated STAR TREK episode to be produced in more than three decades. The last new animated STAR TREK episode featuring Captain Kirk and his crew was produced by Filmation and aired on NBC-TV Saturday morning, October 12, 1974. Now, after almost 34 years, new episodes are being produced. These new episodes are intended to be a direct continuation of the 22-episode animated STAR TREK series produced by Filmation Associates from 1973-1974. To kick off the new episodes, a seven-minute animated short feature "The Element of Surprise" debuted July 23, 2008 on www.DanhauserTrek.com.

Part One of this new episode originally debuted on www.DanhauserTrek.com on September 8, 2008, with the final two parts being released in April 2009. The episode is 29 minutes long.

  • As far as I can remember the voices were performed by the original series actors, in this episode you have people trying to sound as much as possible like the actors. Was this video edited?

  • @MrFrank1968 It is a completely new episode using some character and background images from the show, all newly animated by hand.

  • @CHDanhauser thanks for clearing that out for me

  • Your spock is pretty awesome!

  • You should activate Closed Captions option on Youtube for these episodes, it would make them easier to follow for foreign audiences.

  • awesome and an obvious choice for bringing TOS by a fan!

  • This is the 1st episode where Lt. mress is now a central character for the enterprise.
