Diesel engines are "greener" eh? Yes they give off less CO , but the pollutants in the particulate matter arent healthy, and under heavy load they give off 3 nitrobenzanthrone. The STRONGEST known mutagen- IE DNA gets messed with badly... As for falling off after 60kmh, what drugs are you on? My brothers old Ford LTD ran to 120 in 1st gear (and got there real quick), with a MILD 460 big block (2.75 arse, not 4.5 like new cars ). You're talking specific cars NOT petrol engines- no clue some ppl

Why are people getting so excited about the performance of the 2.0 TDCi? 9.0/9.5 seconds is mundane acceleration. If you want a proper sport diesel go for a Seat Leon FR, a BMW 120/123d, or an Astra CDTi 1.9 SRi because they all have better 0-60's and higher top speeds. Unless they are ST's or RS's ordinary road-going Focuses are just dull human shuttle pods with no zest, flair or character. The Focus 2.0 TDCi is the slowest and the least exciting out of all the diesels.

@MrSula7 stupid comparison since your cordoba should be at least 200 kg lighter. but ok whatever you say pal.

@xIcarus227 My Seat Cordoba 1.4 petrol engine will smoke you c-max ;)
-
@manghan in the meantime my 114 hp 1.8 tdci ford c-max will do 0-100 in 11.1-11.2 seconds. its petrol counterpart (the newest generation focus) 1.8 duratec 125 hp will do it in around 10.8. And excuse me, that is due to the fact that the focus is lighter than the focus c-max -> my engine does about the same job with 30% less fuel.
And don't be an ignorant. In any 1v1 from 60 kph diesel will own petrol every time because of torque. Next time you say diesels are only for economy think again.

Diesels last longer and consume less fuel, that's correct. However, in no way are they quieter or just as smooth. Have you ever driven a diesel? (A manual)

@xIcarus227 Petrols die down after the 35mph mark? My car will go to 34/35 in first and then up to 64 in 2nd, all in about 6.1 seconds. If we were to do a rolling start at 35 mph in the best gear for each car, petrol would win every time. Diesels are for economy, petrols are for performance.
Nice to see a car with great economy that doesn't take a week to get to 100. :-)

@karkass4 Another clueless guy commenting on what he doesnt understand....First of all, 10 sec 0-100 is good for 136hp, 2.0 petrol with 140 in focus is not even 0,5 sec faster, but its slower at in-gear performance, and it consumes almost twice the amount of fuel. Second, 0-100 is the least important figure about a diesel car. Do 80-120 kmh in 4th in this car...it will do it in 6 sec.... petrol version with 140hp will do it in 9-10s , and at higher rpm. Diesel is about torque, not about 0-100
