It has been 31 years since the death of Pope Paul VI at Castelgandolfo.

Giovanni Battista Montini, the future Pope Paul VI, born in a town near Brescia, Italy in 1897. The young Montini entered the seminary in the town and received the ordination to the priesthood 23 years in Rome.

Diploma in Theology, Canon Law and Civil Law for several universities, in 1937 took over as substitute of the Secretariat of State to Pope Pius XI, as they also maintained with Pius XII.

In 1962 Pope John XXIII named him cardinal and joined the preparation of the Second Vatican Council. A council chair later after the sudden death of John XXIII.

Only one year after his appointment as cardinal was elected as successor of Peter for 66 years of age, and so only 18 days after the death of his predecessor.

The pontificate of Paul VI was clearly marked by the implementation of the changes of Vatican II.

Encyclicals 'Populorum Progressio' and 'Humanae Vitae' showed the importance of Paul VI gave to the problems of society at the time.

During the summer of 1978, health his health deteriorated very quickly. Until on August 6, which died at the papal residence of Castelgandolfo, the 81 years of age.

His process of beatification has been opened already.

  • Paul VI. was the greatest pope of modern times (my opinion). This video is very interesting, though it contains a factual error: Giovanni Battista Montini was created a cardinal by John XXIII. on December 15. 1958. Not that it matters. I just hope and pray that pope Paul VI. will be declared a saint very soon.

  • @horowitz109 Thanks you for your comment!

Yes you are quite right, we need Pope Paul VI. blessing and his prayer very much today. The Holy Father suffered for the church and for telling the truth, and he did so quietly. His papacy still shines today, thirtytwo years after his death. Santo Subito!

  • A holy pope??? "And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son" Thousands of Catholic churches, schools, convents monasteries closed and emptied!!! And by his own admission -"The smoke of Satan entered the sancutuary"PaulVI . Christ warned -"Let him who has eyes to see..see and ears to hear..hear"! The great apostasy is upon us!

  • "31th"?

  • @ayws7 (Hi! I'm Italian) yes, I agree. What do you think about his successor,John Paul I?

  • Paolo VI, freemason and gay, 666 + + +

  • @SAYYOURROSARY

the number 666 is a lucky number, and has nothing to do with so called Satan. so I'll have to ask what the fuck it is you are smoking.

  • @joshuayap2005

you are talking about the 7 popes of Avignon during the 12 century?

  • @raczinger20

you have got to admit, no matter what you say about traditionalist, the latin mass was UNIVERSAL. No matter what language you spoke or where you were at, the Latin mass was the same around the world.

  • You traditionalists are so delusional. In today's world, you can't win souls with Middle Age rituals. I was a convert to your faith from another religion. I admire Pope Paul VI because he simplified the Church and brought it closer to the people, to the simple masses. Sheesh, the Church was made to serve people, not kingly Italians in the Curia. Do you think you will be able to get the gospel across with rich robes and expensive tiaras? You win them by understanding where they are!

  • John 3 compared him (jokingly) to a small hamlet. I think the most interesting thing about Paul the Sixth is the famous references in his pontificate to "we" and "I" at the end. Spooky! :)

  • A decent, honest and perhaps even Holy man. But a very weak pope.
