@jaylenrocks dude ur right,but adjust the hop up back u will see a selector(its showed in the manual)and there u will see selector thats is intended to adjust the firing mode(if u put it back it will shoot up.if u put in in the middle it shoot's forward and if put it forward it will shoot down)so,this what u writed is aright truly.Every airsoft MP40 based on any airsoft mark haves this option.

hop up puts spin on the bb as it leaves the barrel making it fly up slightly so it ill go farther. so basically it gives the gun more range. but if you dont use heavy enough bb's they will just leve the barrel and fly stright up rather than go farther. with .12 bbs i once shot at a tree with full hop up and it went over the tree. so .2 or higher...hope i could help...
