The one and only auto-ranging, auto-polarity ANALOG multimeter I have ever seen. Otherwise a fairly standard FET multimeter. Although Micronta and Radio Shack analog models are usually pretty crappy, this is actually a pretty good multimeter (for voltage readings) except it cannot resolve very low resistance values and it wastes a low burden voltage by only having a 300mA minimum current range. Might add to this review later.

  • Thanks for the review. I just picked one of these up at a garage sale for $5. It was still in the box with all of the manuals and it's a very solid analog multimeter.

  • @Alexsandralyn What a find! Good for you! I don't use mine much, but it's a fun meter.

  • Speaking of autoranging analog multimeters, how about the Bruel Kjaer 2426 autoranging voltmeter?

  • OK, it doesn't surprise me that much that somebody else made an auto-ranging analog meter, but you must admit Bruel & Kjaer is in a different class (we can all hope... :-)

  • I just snagged one of these interesting critters today off the 'bay. As you mention, they don't show up often. Fingers crossed as to its condition on arrival....

Once again, thanks for the video.

  • Aside from Simpson and Triplett the best analog meters I have seen are Hioki M-234A and ICE 680R.

This Hioki M-234A looks similar to Simposn 260.
