  • @survivorevil

Bones are normally hollow from inside, just we try to insert nail in natural hole, so bones do not get fragile and what ever small part is lost is regenerate after some time.

  • is it possible to take out the nail ?

  • @nabit90 yes

  • My son broke his right tibia and fibia and fractured his ankle on the same leg 1 mth ago and had to have this op to fix his tibia - he broke it on holidays ice skating, and has only just gone back to school... The specialist has told us that he would like to see the rod come out in about 18mths to 2 yrs down the track... Therefore another op is on the cards... My son is doing ok, no weight can be put on it for about another 3 wks - not in much pain at all - thank goodness

  • @Niceboy3377 Yeah, thanks! ;]

  • @TrueGamer181 oh ok thats good :) glad your ok :))

  • @Niceboy3377 Surprisingly, no. If you mean the surgery, it only hurt when they replaced my cast and my leg was exposed to cold air. As for the injury, I was hit by a car while crossing the street, so I was in shock. Luckily, the adrenaline kept me from feel the pain, and so did the morphine drip later in the ambulance. Now my leg hurts a little when it's cold or rainy outside.

  • @TrueGamer181 did that hurt??

  • I just recently snapped my tibia and fibula almost 8 months ago. The doctors put a titanium rod inside my bone, through the knee, like this guy. It's interesting to see what they did to me here. I am very thankful for what the doctors did for me, but I wish I could have watched a tape. That would've been awesome! Interestingly, though, they said my rod/screws can never be removed. I guess they would have to snap my bones all over again in order to get the rod out, which would defeat the purpose.

  • ive had a titanium rod inserted two years ago. no complications, however, it does show up on metal detectors lol

  • @nabit90 yes it is possible to take the "rod" out

  • ANIMS david villa.. villa just had this surgery today.. :(
