i just check out all $cientology books I can find then never take em back (they make great bedding for my hamster!) thats why the CO$ have to keep sending replacements ! or if you prefer take the books home (or not as this tip can be done with caution at the Library) then with some tubestick paper glue cover the pages with pictures of shit, snot , or cake recipes or whatever takes your fancy that day, then oh what fun the next time they are checked out!

Burn them!

Believe it or not, that box of books cost some poor deluded Sci member $500.
Cult is collecting millions of dollars from members to put a book set in every library in the world. Its a scam. They shouldnt just dump it on a library without permission.

The trash can is the right place for these books. Let the cats read some L.Ron material.

I know the secretary of a local library. I should ask him to ask scientology about the books and then give them to me. Know thine enemy. :)

Ahhhhh, you have to love it. I am reminded of the South Park episode dealing with this.
I believe that information should be free, as such a library should hold a copy of all works, especially those that cost hundreds of dollars, for those who are interested in Scientology and can't afford it. Keeping them off the shelves deprives the populace of information, giving them a one sided idea. If they are so worried about it's impact, put up a warning label, but the books should definitely be on library shelves, if only to read and laugh at. Bibles are in the library aren't they?

I believe very much in the freedom of access to information. These items were not appropriate for our collection because we are a school that does not have any classes or programs that involve the study of religion. If a patron wants to read/view these types of materials I will gladly get them for them through interlibrary loan. We have very little shelf space and we must give priority to those materials that will actually support our academic programs.

Is there a law that forces libraries to put these books on their shelf? Can they be returned or thrown out?
There's actually more books and lectures as well as a bunch of policies he wrote. Remember, once he started making money of $cientology, he was able to retire and just write books.
Hubbard so crazy, he made up his own language ( think R2d2 talking to 3CPO ), so these books are impossible to understand without his "dictionary". Oh well.
Thanks L. Ron

No, we aren't forced to add them to our collections. I've heard of some libraries returning them. I suspect that most of these books end up in the trash.
