here's a how2 on a hog chew toy.take a 4x4,land scaping timber, ect.log will work too.its up to you how long you want it.this one in the vid is bout 16/18 inches. take 1in drill bit and drill a hole on the end least 6 inches.again you can go deeper.completely up to you.than take a smaller drill bit and drill bleeder holes on each side connecting to the larger hole.bout and inch apart(can be further apart too).(the closer you make them the easier it'll be for the hogs to tear it up quicker)make sure when done drilling holes,go back and clear them again with drill bits to to insure maximum flow.(cleaning out shavings).take a 1inch thick 4x4 piece of wood.(this will be the cap)(also doesnt have to be a 4x4 piece, just big enough to cover hole and pivot around) screw the cap to the top of the 4x4,covering the 1in hole.make sure to use one screw and that it'll pivot around to gain access to fill HCT(hog chew toy).nail(or screw) 1 nail next to the cap,but not through it to make it pivot one way.take another nail(not a screw, they can break as you bend it) and nail into side of 4x4.(oppisite side of stopper nail)bend nail so that it'll hold the cap in the close postition.you can do this to both ends of the 4x4.will suggest to put an eye bolt or large eye screw in it and chain to a tree or t post with a small chain,so they cant run off with it.(at least make it harder for them to run off with it)should only have to fill it once, wood will be soaked with it.but you can refill it if you want a fresh stronger smell.just drill out the holes to clean the crystallized bait.this will also work on deer.(lil suggestion, try crushing up protein pellets(if your feeding protein)in with your bait to help antler growth that way too).thx for watching! subscribe if you haven't already.going to try to start putting a how2/tip style up every 2 3 days on hunting, shooting and everything else dealing with hunting.again from the guys here at B.H.C. thanks for watching.
