Pumpkin sextet thrown together rather hastily for this year's Halloween display. "When the Night Wind Howls" from Ruddigore by Gilbert & Sullivan, arranged for the King's Singers. Other sounds from the Freesound project.

Projection method developed by Dave Bates.

Though it was a smash hit with the neighborhood kids, there are certainly some things I am not happy about with the set-up, most of which stem from trying to set up delicate electronics in a rain and windstorm. The projection file will definitely be tweaked for next year to correct the slipping faces.

  • This is fantastic!..i know its 2 years old,but i came across it....so one projector is all one needs to project the faces?....

and do you sell the dvd for the faces?

  • @kirby90803

You know, I'm really starting to consider that after so many requests.

The problem is I couldn't sell it with the music (RIAA and all that) and some of the tracks I used aren't readily available. I need to work out a solution.

everyone one burns songs off itunes...what is the difference adding this to your soundtrack?...curious..:)

  • @kirby90803

Believe it or not, you can't get everything on iTunes.

  • @kirby90803

How do you project the music,or is that incorporated with the projector??

  • @kirby90803

This first year I hid a couple speakers under the green sheet. If you look at the videos from last year, the "pillars" the urns are sitting on are actually a pair of large speaker towers.

The whole thing is powered by a very handy combination DVD player & amplifier - simply run a long S-video cable to the projector and wire up the speakers!
