@shoegazer666 JJ did have his own sound and own technique. That is what sets him apart. Regardless of if he had 4 "stock" licks that he played over and over or if he had an endless bag of tricks to draw from, he executed them well. He is a staple when students want to hear what a "Jazz" trombone sounds like.
