Toshiba TG01

The Toshiba TG01 was on hand at Mobile World Congress to bring Toshiba back into the smartphone limelight. With a 1Ghz CPU running alongside various other multimedia chips on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, the Toshiba TG01 is fast becoming the premier touchscreen smartphone.

The Toshiba TG01 sports a massive, yet crisp and bright, 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen mated to an incredibly thin 9.9mm package. Toshiba managed to cram a full feature-set that includes GPS, WiFi, 3G data connectivity, and a microSD card slot into a crazy-thin body, highlighting the company's progress in smartphone design and manufacture.

Look for the Toshiba TG01 to drop in the second half of 2009.

i tried one in the orange store (running winmo 6.5) and the screen seemed really responsive

processing time...?!...it has a 1.0 GHz processor...the processor is not the problem...maybe this handset alone isn't very good...i don't now for sure...but the processor isn't the problem

I guess it is not that screen is unresponsive, i think operating system is slow, dont know why but when he selects someting; when the screen changes, it remains black for a short time, thats annoying. And the reason for that, i guess, precessing time. And response of the screen is also slow for that reason in my opinion. I dont know if that is cause because of WinMo 6.1-SD8250 processor incompatibility but it seems ther is a little bit problem. I hope it'll be solved with WinMo6.5 update.

Stripes UI looks pointless. It is annoying that the iphone has no folders, but 3 long stripes set up like folders won't be any better. the phone itself looks cool, but the touch screen looks non-responsive. (i like the 3 clicks to open one app)
