Rhodes TV - Alex Wilkerson

A Little Rock native, Alex is a sophomore majoring in International Studies with a minor in Chinese. Rhodes was the only school he applied to because it matched perfectly with his unique interests -- the study of the Chinese language and culture, and playing the saxophone.

Since coming to Rhodes, Alex has actively pursued both of these passions. Through the Rhodes Maymester program, he was able to spend last summer in China. And as a recipient of a Buckman Fellowship, he will be returning to China with an internship position and the opportunity to further improve his language skills. Rhodes has also given Alex many occasions to pursue his love of music. Currently he plays in three different bands on campus. And he's even had the opportunity to play on legendary Beale Street -- home of the blues!

Alex also enjoys a diverse social life. Whether it's playing a game with his "little brother" as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters, or enjoying a cook-out with his Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers, he always finds a way to stay active and involved at Rhodes.
