  • This problem is general to high mileage TBI systems. Dust shoudlnt be an issue as long as your fuel system stays clean. They do make a 4bbl TBI system aftermarket but it requires a lot of modifications and quite expensive. If your going to spend that kind of money you might as well upgrade to a vortec engine and fuel system.

  • The fix was replacement of the injectors and regulator.

  • I like using the gyneses system to trouble shoot issues. I tried the snap on midos and always asked for keys i didn't have/

  • @ChevyDude1989 , you hit the nail on the head! i replacd the ignition module, and when i went to remove it, the connector for the pole peice fell apart! it was shorting to the distributor base and took out the fuel side of my module and the relay and oil pressure switch too! the truck would cold start and run great but would not start after warm.

  • @chevman64 Try the control module under the distributor cap on the distributor

  • Never had a problem with mine. I live in Oregon. Does this happen in dustier, or sandier areas? I own a 350 TBI. Also, would it be possible to hook up a four-barrel TBI system on the 350?

  • easy fix----what fix??????????????????????

  • hey great video! very informitive! i however, have a slightly different problem with the same tbi. runs good if you spray a little fuel into the tbi to start it. after checking the pulse with a noid light, i have no pulse during cranking. so i reinstalled the connectors on the injectors, started it, and then i have a nice cone shaped spray from both injectors.

what would cause the no pulse during cranking? could it be the ecu? or a switch?

  • this is common for sure. i like to use a timing light and adjust to view spray pattern.

TBI was one of the easiest to cure.

    good video...awesome tip

  • i have that problem! my car has high hydrocarbon at 15mph emissions test, ive checked every single sensor, and ran it through as many tests as possible and it all look good, now i have an idea of what it can be
