i saw in 1964 this mass with the Robert Shaw choral , i was 15 years then.

@goldivox50 : Agreed. Bach is an excellent composer for fugues (possibly the only human capable of composing great fugues). Handel comes a close 2nd, there's just something missing in his fugues.

In a performance of a quality equal to the quality of the composition [as with anything Robert Shaw did] the "Dona Nobis Pacem" may be the most fitting, grandest, climax to any musical work of any period; perhaps, to ANY artistic work whatsoever. But then, I am prejudiced.
