NOTE: My apologies for the lighting +/

This time around I finally get to review the nutty American brown ale from Rogue...

Check out the brewery's website: http://www.trappistwestmalle.be/en/page/home.aspx

Grading Scale:
1: Undrinkable
2-3: Not enough flavour; does not deserve to be in its style
4-5: Below average; some flavours; drinkable
6: Average, decent beer
7: Above average, pretty good beer; lacks a few aspects still
8: Very good beer; solid performer for its style; a "go-to" beer
9: Excellent, much better than others in its style; only a small step from being perfect
10: Amazing, Brilliant, Outstanding! A perfect example of the style! Could also be an absolute favourite.

Stick to Good Beer!

  • "stupid" ? 4 u>>>when i lived in (my little corner of)montreal,22 oz bottles were called knee highs.

in all my time spend in canada,i have never heard that size bottle called a bomber.a bomber (again in my experience) was always an american term.

my question...do all english quebecers now call that size bottle a bomber or only u cause u associate w/american beer drinkers?

  • @qchome To be honest with you, I don't really know. There are very few beers being sold in these bottles in Quebec today, so I've never heard anyone call them any name, really. I think I have heard people call them "bombers" in Ontario, though (I may be wrong, of course). And yes, I've been calling them "bombers" ever since I heard that word here on YouTube.

  • ROGUE!!! I love those guys!

  • @dorf68 Me too, you can't go wrong with a Rogue!

  • hey, where did you find this beer?

  • never had this one. i guess just add another rogue to the list i got to try...

  • Yeah, pork and beans would have been better. But in a pinch, always chips!

  • Quite an awesome Rogue beer. I love a good nut brown. Samuel Smiths is also and epic brown ale. Good review. Keep drinking great beer Denis.

  • Great review Denis! Also one, if not my favorite Brown Ale! Rouge makes some amazing beer, unfortunately i can't get it anymore :-( Cheers!

  • Ive yet to try this one, but It's Rogue so I'm inclined to believe it's going to be good.

I like a good nutty brown ale though - they're like liquid candy bars!
