As the debate over the proposed draft constitution heats up, the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) wants the proposal permitting workers to picket removed from the draft constitution. FKE Chairman Patrick Obath argues that such a practice will make it even more difficult to resolve industrial conflicts.
Picketing refers to standing outside a place of work with the intention of dissuading workers from entering a work place while appealing to them to join the strike.

  • the union need to be introduced or made stronger in kenya to defend workers right . without them these rich employers who do not care for the input their employees are inputting will surely exploit them with greed for profit = mantra minimum expense (employee wages etc) while maximising profit (employees doing more than they should.

  • we have to picket and strike, it is a democtatic right in any civilized country. we will not allow employers to keep undermining their employees as if they have no rights.
