Music & Lyrics: Pilson, Dokken, Lynch, Brown

Clouds roll by as I look to the sky
And then the feeling comes, it comes on again
You know desire burns like a fire, fire of sin
Oh, will I ever learn
You're the only one I would call my own
But then the shadows fall and I'm gone again

I'm a hunter
Searching for love
On these lonely streets again
I'm the hunter
Searching for the things
That I might never find again

Care for you, you know that I always will
I know it's hard for you, my taste for the kill
But then it calls to me when the moon rises full in the sky
You know it's not denied
Will I ever find love and peace of mind
On these streets again, will it ever end

I'm a hunter
Searching for love
On these lonely streets again
I'm the hunter
Searching for the things
That I might never find again

You know desire burns like a fire, fire within
I guess I'll never learn
You're the only one I would call my own
But when the shadows fall, you know I won't be wrong
I'm a hunter
Searching for love
On these lonely streets again
I'm the hunter
Searching for the things
That I might never find again

I'm a hunter
Searching for love
I'm the hunter
Searching for the things
That I might never find again.

This guitar in this song is so magical and elusive and unique. Man, I can approximate almost anyone's sound with various gear but Under Lock and Key is different, no guitar sounded like this ever since. I mean even Lynch does not sound like this anymore. The midrange growl, the sweetest distortion, the clarity, the punch, I am really short for words to describe the guitar tone. And the riff is great too and I have no idea as to why I feel this much compelled to make a comment like this :)

Don't give all the credit to George. The whole thing is magnificent. Don's voice meshing with the guitars and the drumming, there's a reason I randomly have dreams about this song. Because it's better than almost everything else.

    Truly!

Most people credit Eddie Van Halen and make him this guitar god, when there were guys like Lynch who had a totally unique style that in many ways, were much better and light years ahead of the pack of six string samurai that characterized the 80's.

Having a sound is one thing, but having a sound AND a talent back it up with is yet another, and George Lynch was one of the guys who had both. And yes, the guitar quality in this song is quite neat!

I totally agree OBO. This song was one of Lynch's finest moments! His talent is supernatural and his tone in the era remains unmatched. Your description is spot on!!
