  • The Vintage Modern cab has the same speakers as the Hendrix cab, but they are different speakers than the 1960AX.

If you want to save some money on a GREAT 2x12 or 4x12 cab, check out Sour Mash cabinets. They will build with your choice of colors and grillcloth, and they use WGS speakers. Check out my Reinhardt Sentinel videos - I have a Sour Mash 2X12 with WGS Green Berets (their version of the 25 watt greenback). Great build quality and it looks and sounds awesome!

  • I like this cab and the Marshall TV Cab with the Greenbacks. This cab is supposed to have the GB speakers that came in the Hendrix Special Cab right?

  • My cab is a 1960AX. It has the Celestion 25 watt greenback speakers, but they are not the Hendrix speakers. They are the standard 25 watt greenbacks.

  • Oh I wish I was a catfish, baby!! hell yeah rock on brother!

  • Right on, brother!

  • why change the pickups. What were the 57 original pickups like? no good? whats better about the fralin pickups over the original ones. im looking at one of these strats, and have a Jimi Hendric Super100JH amp, so wanting the best sound i can get ofcourse.

  • Lindy Fralin does a great job with his pickups. I like this set because the middle pickup is reverse wound, so the 60 cycle hum is cancelled in the 2 and 4 positions. The stock pickups sound good, but are noisy in all 5 positions. The Fralins have a very authentic 50's tone.

  • I looked and it said that the Vintage/Modern Cab has the same type greenbacks that the Hendrix Cab had. Your's sounds good. I might get a Whitebox 2x12 or 4x12 and put some Greenbacks in that instead of getting a Marshall Cab. Whichever is less expensive. LOL

  • Thanks!

  • verycool for a hendrix fan like me (great playing and interprétation.)
