On 8-12-11 into 8-13-11 Nester Video Production Photographer along with Newsworking Photographer Bill Rohrer spent time in New York City and Newark NJ seeing what we could capture. The trip started out in Da Bronx were we responded to a structure call that was unfounded, while listening to the Brooklyn area being very busy we headed in that direction. While in Brooklyn we encountered heavy radio traffic for multiple gas odor calls and listened to a 10-75 in Manhattan. Then we headed to Newark when being just outside the City we started hearing radio traffic for a job on Ferry St @ Polk St crews struck 5 alarms while battling the fire that spread around a corner damaging about 7 mixed use structures. While on location a 2nd fire was put out for Ferry St @ Lockwood St, we arrived at this Fire (which is the posted picture with article) as the first engine was arriving. This fire went to 2 alarms and the business collapsed before being brought under control. After the second Job we returned to the first fire to capture a few more images before heading home for the night.
