Bob Simmons-James Bond stunt double

A tribute to Bob Simmons who was the first stuntman and then stunt coordinator on the classic James Bond films, and had a career spanning 25 years in the film industry. As well as Bond stars Sean Connery, Roger Moore and George Lazenby, he had worked with and doubled for many other famous actors, including Robert Taylor, Alan Ladd, Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum.

Bob Simmons should've been the real James Bond instead of Connery, he's a brilliant stuntman and he was sad to be missed since his death in 1988 amen.

He was indeed a great stuntman - I believe he worked on some of Roger Moore's Bond pictures as well!

Its a good post, Bob Simmons is actually my uncle and not alot of people know that he lied about his age he was born before 1933 its apparently 1925 and he died by falling funny on his ancle which led to complications.

The fight from "Thunderball" had Bob Simmons play the role of Jacques Bouvoir, i.e. he can be seen completely here. That means you see Sean Connery fight against his double.
