ABOUT THE ARTIST:

"Cory Hall played two works of towering artistic content and difficulty with a power and a finish that were startling. Hall was up to it — all over the keyboard, but always conscious of the magic the notes were designed to evoke. It was an impressive performance." (The Sacramento Bee)

Cory Hall is one of the leading pianist-composers today whose specialty is sacred and secular character works and exciting ragtime arrangements. Drawing upon his experience as a classical piano virtuoso, ragtime pianist, church organist, liturgical musician and born-again Christian, as well as interests in popular, rock and folk music, Hall has grafted a truly unique, innovative, and eclectic musical style all his own. His works, often described as "timeless", are distinguished by their simple and folksy melodiousness, touching lyricism, and alluring harmonies layered over rich, orchestral-like textures. Moreover, rhythm in all its aspects plays a major role in Hall's works as syncopation, changing meters, and metric modulation often feature prominently. Hall's experience of over 40 years as a pianist and his intimate knowledge of the piano and its capabilities have imbued him with the ability to compose some of the most "performer-friendly", idiomatic, and profoundly rich piano music on the market today — piano classics for all pianists!

SPECIAL NOTE:

In addition to his duties as a pianist, composer, and pedagogue, Dr. Cory Hall is also a music publisher and master music engraver, specializing in piano/keyboard music. Hall holds four degrees in music (a doctorate, two masters degrees and a bachelors degree) and is Founder/President of BachScholar Publishing, LLC — an ASCAP-certified publisher — which was established in 2011 and made its debut on the internet in September, 2012.
