seahorse

Gary first noticed this seahorse a few months ago hanging around our boat slip. He lives in very shallow water and propels himself around with tiny fluttering wings on each side of his body. When he wants to take a nap he wraps his tail around something handy and just lays down! Because of several winter storms, the harbor water was dirty, but it's cleared up again. He's covered with silt which helps him hide from baby barracudas and other predators living in the harbor who would like to have him for lunch!
