Pompeii is a town located about 150 miles south of Rome near Naples. In 79 AD, Mount Vesuvius erupted and buried the town, and thousands of its inhabitants, in volcanic ash and debris.

Pompeii was completely forgotten about until it was accidentally rediscovered in the 1500's.

Excavation of Pompeii began in the 1700's and continues to this day.

  • @mwahisgoed she wasn't being "ignorant" get over yourself. She wasn't being mean all she was saying was that she was having trouble understanding what the tour guide said. and she was warning other travelers that just because it says "english-speaking" doesn't mean it's easy to understand.

get rid of the chip on your shoulder, its unappealing and makes YOU into the rude one.

  • @mebman3 of course she is, why would she stop

  • Are you still dating Phil?

  • That tour guide got it wrong; they didnt worship that guy with the huge penis, images of him appeared in residents' (rich residents') entryways as a warning. The Romans, and Greeks before them, had this whole thing about "civilized penises," which were small. If you had a large penis, you were seen as brutal and savage; uncivilazed. That's why satyrs were always depicted with huge erections. The fresco guy was cursed BY the gods, not a god himself. It was one of their stories

  • Thumbs up if you recognized Via Partenope and glimpsed the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in the background.

  • 'Don't sound English'? What, like you do?

  • Didn't you go to the top of the Vesuvius by the way?! The view is amazing there!

  • Napoli is a horrible city, but there are SO many interesting places to visit near Napoli! Like the Vesuvius or Pompei, or even the Herculaneum :D

  • Those houses built 2000 years ago with all the weathering are still nicer than most of Africa's housing...

  • You should have gone to Florence and Siena.

  • ok, this video broke my heart! The dogs....aw, this is seriously sad.
