The final design.
I made several significant changes from the original upload (found on my channel.)
The first was making the titles clearer and less pixelated. Therefore I deleted the background and just used the vector character against a white background and used black text for greater contrast.
Next I altered the colours in the main animation. I used the 'auto colour' and 'auto contrast' options in Adobe Premiere to make the animation more vibrant and bring the animation to life.
I re shot several frames such as when the rabbit first walks into the animation to get the rabbits movement just right. . A few small glitches I only noticed after the production of the final design is that the rabbit's front leg hardly moves during the first shot, also the cloud jumps slightly as the girl gives the rabbit her bobble.
Finally was the obvious inclusion of music and sound effects. I recorded my voice gasping and saying "here bunny". I altered the tone of these samples in Sony Soundforge. I downloaded the laugh and birdsong samples from a sound effects website.
I also used the Chocobo theme from the game Final Fantasy VII for the background music. I felt that this music fits the animation very well. I attempted to time the animation so the music fitted in with events in the animation perfectly. For example the big orchestral finale is when the rabbit hops merrily away at the end.
I am pleased with the final outcome of this animation and think cut out works brilliantly for this story, aimed at young children who would find it fun and can have a go at the technique... and create cut out character's themselves at pre-school.
If I were to film another cut out animation, I would ensure all parts move in harmony so that I wouldn't get a static leg like in the first shot and I would be careful not to nudge pieces (so I wouldn't get the cloud jumping for example) and if so, notice this and re-shoot the frame.
This is the first cut out animation I've ever done, so be gentle...
