Yes, since the vast majority of the users of these types of fins are not taking part in a free diving competition but are actually spear fishing or even Ab diving in California, the mono-fin wouldn't be the fin of choice. These fins fit the bill perfectly though.

world-class freediving competitors don't use bifins anymore for quite some years now. Monofins are much more popular.
