A robot is set inside an eight foot wide hexagon and is controlled with a mere nine lines of code. This test version of the highly expandable RoBe:Do robot uses only one sensor.

RoBe:Do Robotics, the future is automatic.

  • What kind of detection sensor do you use on your robot? Is it a ultrasonic transceiver?

  • The sensor is a Sharp Infrared distance sensor with a range from 1" to 12".

The sensor is on the very front of the robot, just under the chassis. It is mounted on a servo so it can scan horizontally for detecting objects very close to the robot (the sensor of course also worked fine for detecting the barriers in this demo).

  • Good project, you could have used a webcam for obstacle detection.

Anyway, I think a Beagle Board could be a good replacement for the netbook.
