This is an advanced combat suit for garrysmod. It includes a heavy melon/propane launcher and a jetpack. The contraption physics is build using wiremod E2, and the props for the suit are from HL2, HL2 expansions, and TF2. It uses a wiremod damage detector so that the suit can take damage and die on any server.

The prop construction of the suit probably took around 4 hours of development, going through a few versions. The E2 development probably took about 12 hours of work in total with all the versions and testing. A large part of the E2 development time was spent tweaking all the sound effects and special effects to be perfect. The two weapons (the melon launcher and propane lancher) are just wire prop spawners combined with E2 apply force code.

  • since you probably used damage detectors could you give me a hint on how you would apply that damage to the "Damage Health" input no an advanced pod controller

    i understand it changes instantaneously but i just don't know how to do it D:

  • @RedDotRampage I never knew there was an input to the adv. pod controller to damage health. What you want to do is a bit tricky. The health of the robot is held within the E2 code of the suit. If you go to the wiremod thread in the description you can see the e2 code. There is a persist variable called Health, which ranges from 0-100 indicating your health. You are going to have to do something like this: @output DamageHealth

    and DamageHealth = 100-Health

  • hmmmm..... why when i unfreeze this, it starts to spaze out

  • @wolfriot2012 Try a different server when this happens. This happens when the server you are playing on is missing the HL2 expansion models. The main prop, the engine block from HL2 expansion, is what the e2 applies force to and if it is missing it will do exactly as you said.

  • I see a ton of options for parenting.

  • @OneEarNinja It is properly parented. Only the ballsocked arms aren't parented, because they can't be. Those arms flop around a bit giving that kind of look.

  • I like it, but one flaw it you should have the shells disappear after 15 seconds to avoid spam.

  • It's a good suit, for basic infrantry, but most people prefer mechs, because of the increased firepower and damage it can take
