From the blasphemy debate at Hay Festival 2005 where Stephen Fry and Christopher Hitchens discuss incitement to religious hatred.

The whole thing can be listened to here: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/culturevulture/Blasphemy.mp3

    Nope. Gay not Gynophobic.

"I was just talking about the troll parts"

Oh come on, like the theists are any better? Besides what do you expect on YouTube rational debate in 300 chars or less?

And I am telling you that whilst they undertook a scientific approach, their callous disregard & even glee at the suffering caused by their tests was nothing to do with science. Science is morally neutral, people are not.

  • @Tenebrous76 I was just talking about the troll parts, the "LOL FUCK YOU'RE GOD IT SUXXX ATHEIST4LYF" attitude that seeps out of 80% of atheists you'll ever speak to.

I'm telling you, the reason behind their actions was to scientifically understand what the human body could withstand, survive, or adapt to. Nazis hating Jews was religiously motivated, but so's USA on Muslims. Same levels of hate under a cloak of "heroic sacrifices" and "terrorism". Unit 731 used Chinese and Koreans, not Jews.

  • @xdarkside19x The dangerous thing with Stephen Fry is he's intelligent, but also seems to think it's fine to not only push atheism on everybody but also homosexuality. He doesn't outright say it like that but he very much preens his flock to do exactly that.

I'd get on with him in reality if he kept all that stuff in his head but he seems so vitriolic towards religions and obsessed with "human rights" I wonder what sort of character he really is beneath the wit and humour.

Do the big bad rainbows and stars frighten you?

  • @Tenebrous76 Yikes, rainbows and stars follow you as you walk around, don't they?

  • @SkateObsession

Sure, it might manage to amuse me.

  • @Tenebrous76 Wouldn't you like to know.
