Costa Rica did history that year, First hey beat Sweden a soccer power at the time and a country who was thirst best in Mexico 86, and they also beat Scotland, a team far more experienced and high in the ranking table. Secondly, it lost only by one goal to the super power of Brasil!!!. Finally, Costa Rica became the first country of the CONCACAF to made to the next round in Europe!!.

They weren't, that uniform was inspired on a former Costa Rican first division team uniform called La Libertad, in that year 1990, that team was being honored in Costa Rica for being the very first division football team in that country.

@Caveej - scottish football is not pointless especially to the people of scotland. have you ever felt the atmosphere at an old firm game - celtic v rangers is regarded world wide as one of the greatest city derbies in the world - FACT ! The scottish game is not in great shape at present but never forget that Scotland and England INVENTED FOOTBALL - WE ARE THE CREATORS IF THE WORLDS FAVOURITE SPORT !

@brumster01 too true mate - I was 14 also and remember being distraught as scotland lost to costa rica and then needed a draw versus brazil to go through to last 16 but goalkeeping howler meant we lost 1-0 and went out at group stage AGAIN !!
W did beat Sweden 2-1 though !

i was 15 this summer and it was the summer of my life, holiday for two month (the last time in my life), it was a very hot summer, and every was the same: Go swimming, playing football, watching italia 90, and meeting my first girl friend.....what a great summer, thanks for memories!
