This week, the Beast File looks at Australias Big Two supermarket chains. Woolworths & Coles are a $100 billion a year duopoly with a retail market share the envy of the developed world. And they have their fingers in a lot of other pies too.

i work for woolworths they are assholes

the make us by our own knives and forks and bowls to use in the tea room

and dont even supply salt and pepper...

not as if they are a supermarket or anything..

they are also trying to get the meat union out of their meat rooms and replacing them with the SDA union (a weak union most likely bribbed by safeway and bunnings to not push hard on rights etc

Yeah .. altho this clip might come across as a piece of propaganda to some, it actually bears out the fundamental hidden truth about these 2 duopolistic predatory mega-corporations. Studies in Economics 101 tells us that duopolies ARE NOT conducive to healthy market competition & lower prices; & ARE NOT in the best interests of we, the common-graden-variety consumer. So folks, TAKE NOTICE of this little posting - it's TRUE !! (P.S. I'm not connected to this channel in any way).

"...criticising the productive industries that put food on our table and constantly look for better and more efficient ways to do so." the FARMERS put the food on our table and they get paid bugger all for it. Why? because they want a bigger profit margin. "No one tells you not to shop at other small shops" well if Woolworths and Coles would stop with their 'creeping acquisition' and buying lots just to leave them vacant, then maybe the smaller shops could set up somewhere so we CAN go to them.

We need to all shop elsewhere even if it costs a little more. Evil dweebs.

They're pushing in on the little town of Mullumbimby now which no one wants, but who can say NO to them? No one.

Don't expect politicians to step in, they're some of the major investors in these institutions. The Truth is, there are NOT two giants...only ONE!!

Australians will NEVER learn this thanks to their undying devotion to a contract they ALL agreed with in 1988, when Paul Keating said "Australians are basically stupid". Nobody did anything, therefore we contracted with that statement and are basically stupid. Stupid people deserve what they get in any form.
