Jennifer Bryce was moved to sing at age 7 when she first heard a recording of Ella Fitzgerald. Since then her musical influences have ranged from StevieWonder, Dianne Reeves, Etta James to Meredith Monk. Her mother, Julia Banks Bryce, a well-known regional painter and father, writer, A.W. Bryce, gave her a childhood steeped in the contrasts of high-culture urban New York and the lush forests of Vermont on her grandparents farm. The contrast of the natural world and the urban mosaic continue to inform her sensibility to this day: a sense of color and balance, rhythm and stillness.

On her own at age 15, Jennifer opened the door to all the variety Life has to offer: gypsies and prep schools, the streets and the rivers, the sacred and the profane
At 16 she made her professional debut and toured with classical and flamenco guitarist, Juan de la Sierra and toured New England, Spain and Portugal for several years.

She attended school at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts and studied music with legendary gospel singer, Dr. Horace Boyer who called her vocal style "testifying!" as well as with avant garde thespian and singer, Meredith Monk, who remarked she had "an unusual musical gift." Jennifer went on to get her Bachelor¹s degree in Theater after studying with many noted teachers: Simone Forti, Anne Bogart, Samuel Avital and John O¹Keefe, amongst others.

While in college she also was Artistic Director of New Studio Theater in Northampton, Massachusetts where such notables as writer, James Baldwin, dancer, Nancy Stark Smith and sax man, Archie Shepp graced the stage along with much experimental dance and theater.

Jennifer has played the Torch Singer in the West Coast touring production of "Torch Song Trilogy", appeared as Hathor in John O¹Keefe¹s version of "Osiris and Inga in "LBD" a film by Stacey Foiles which received the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival. She has also written and appeared in her own original theater work at Highways, in Los Angeles, First Night in Boston, The San Francisco Fringe Festival and many other venues.

In addition, Jennifer is the recipient of a Whammie Award for her vocal stylings with the Veronica Klaus Heart and Soul Revue.

Jennifer currently lives and sings in San Francisco, California. For more information visit www.JenniferBryce.com
