For more information: http://bit.ly/73NIvH In part two of his Sweetwater interview, legendary master luthier Ren Ferguson talks about going to work for Gibson more than 20 years ago, and the unique history of his custom guitar factory in Montana.
His first Prototypes were displayed at NAMM( January 1989)...repolished..then forwarded to
Stan Jay(who is mentioned here) at Mandolin Brothers in NY... To which I saw,on the way to Washington DC in early April 89' ,with my brother and wife, the first Prototype (A) Blonde J200...put a deposit on our way back...paid and picked up soon after.
To view this first Prototype guitar..while it is there..go to ebay and search Gibson J200 Prototype A Guitar.
I think he has some of the dates wrong...
