It's messed up he appeals to white America and not his own people. As a light-skinned black man myself I know what it's like to be caught in betwixt and between. Meaning not dark enough for the blacks and not light enough for the whites. Once upon a time his lyrics gave life to some of my inner-most thoughts and for that I thank him...
