Research in Motion's Co-CEOs Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis are Professor Finkelstein's number one pick for the worst CEOs of 2011. From older mistakes such as not considering the Apple iPhone a threat, to the bungled introduction of the tablet, it's clear this CEO structure is just not working. It's not easy to change a business model, but the reality of a new competitive landscape has been evident for some time, and Jim and Mike just haven't adapted. With the company's stock price continuing to plummet, and this fall's Blackberry outage still fresh in consumer's minds, it's obvious why these two are Professor Finkelstein's favorite worst CEOs of 2011.
