Joe Willie Namath is always welcome in the great state of ALABAMA. Roll Tide!

By reading some of the posts, especially by YungCott, I see BF High has turned out some well educated and respectful people! This was a great doc, i lived on Darlingon in 1970 when Joe was pretty famous. I just can't believe they can't get a street named after him. How hard can it be? That would bring revenue if a BB sign could be posted on the turnpike somewhere that reads "Come see where Joe Namath got his start". How much would that cost the city??? Even if you don't like him, $ is $

Broadway Joe is returning to Beaver Falls tomorrow Sept. 9, 2011 for the field to be officially dedicated to him.

I enjoyed your documentary-he had a girlfriend that he came to see when I was little-I guess he had a girlfriend in every town-every state-he was very polite and unbelievably cool--------

we will always love Joe Namath here in Tuscaloosa, he will always be a part of us:) and I do think it would be nice if a street in his home town could have his name

I was in Beaver Falls about 6 years ago, looking for Namath memorabilia, and was directed to Namath's brother's shop. His brother was miffed as to why the town did nothing to commenorate Joe. I found nothing in town myself, At that time, the practice field sign was not there, so I got little to photograph. By the way, his brother is a great, great guy. Joe best buddy in high school was also there at the shop, and there was much story telling of days gone by with Joe. So i got a nice treat

Joe Namath had the biggest impact of any player in the history of pro football.
Joe made charisma cool for players and he and the Jets made the AFL and NFL equal.
Think of what he did.
And he guaranteed it.
His style and great play took football to the next level.
By the way, that collection of Namath stuff is very impressive.

I go to school here and play football
i graduated from beaver falls and all of yall a weak as hell!! because the dumb ass who filmed this failed to go to Geneva College stadium where ALL football games are played! thats where they have a BF on both of the 19 yrd lines and next to all the players that played there from geneva has his name on a big billboard! so dont say we didnt do shit for him when you really dont know what went down!!

I went back to check. You forget the era. Like Joe Paterno even today, at Alabama, the names of the players were not displayed on their jersey. (It was added to retro jerseys in order to sell jerseys) The number 12 was on the sleeves, but not a name until all star games. He did have his name hand lettered with a black marker on his kidney pads however. Maybe that's why the display is hidden. The jerseys appear to be later vintage. Who put that display together anyway?

It looks authentic....check the picture behind the jersey.
