George Wein and the Newport All-Stars: Clark Terry-flugelhorn, Randy Sandke-trumpet, Red Holloway-tenor sax, Al Grey-trombone, Eddie Jones-bass, Butch Miles-drums, Howard Alden-guitar - playing Back Home Again In Indiana at the Subway in Cologne, Germany, March 22, 1994
Was that Warren Vache on the second horn? If it wasn't it sounded just like him. To me Alden is quite well known. I watched him and Joe Puma play together some years ago. I recognized the trombonist, but can't come up with his name. Good stuff.

@SPGGuitar251 This -- a vastly under-appreciated jazz guitarist.

One of the best Jazz videos I've ever seen. All the players are on fire! The camera angles show the rhythm section interacting beautifully with the soloists. Any more from this session?

Whoa! Where was this filmed? I know it was somewhere in Europe (a long time ago) but this is brand new to me. I've never seen it.

Wonderful! Howard is has such a great blend of Johnny Smith, George Van Eps, and Barney Kessel in his playing, and he knows so many wonderful, obscure tunes. I love to hear him play in all settings, and he can really tear up these rhythm-changes tunes.
