Great song and a magnificent singer! And yet the combination is all wrong for me. This song is for a husky voice like Dusty Springfield's or Dionne Warwick's. Nina's deep power comes into full bloom in Strange Fruit or Mississippi Goddamn or Don't Explain. Having said that, I like what you've done with the pictures! Very nice. :)

Don't know if you explored Dusty Springfield any further, but Son Of A Preacher Man is a song for which she is probably better known.. Very good!!!

I believe I have only heard the Sergio Mendes version of this song. It seems I need to get out more and expand my horizons. I certainly enjoyed this version.

The Sergio Mendes version is very good DesertSavvy. Have you heard Dusty Springfield sing this? Some say it's the definitive version and I have to admit that it is very good. But the velvety voice of Nina Simone adds an extra dimension that few can match.
