A police sting operation in Beverly Hills on Wednesday led to 53 citations being issued to motorists who failed to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.

  • Maybe the fines are to cheap... Hum, do like some countries and base fines on thier total worth..... Some tickets may draw a few million dollars - that would really help if the fines went to good use in the community....

  • This issue at this specific crosswalk goes back almost 30 YEARS and probably much longer. In 1982 I can remember stopping for pedestrians in this crosswalk and almost being rear-ended by a limousine that had been following too close behind me. Then the limo's driver got mad at me!

    There should be a pedestrian-triggered flashing red traffic signal and it should've been installed in the previous century.

  • Now BH should take some of that revenue and INSTALL a signal. Yes, this problem is city-wide. I dodge cars EVERY single day here just trying to walk a few blocks...even on the sidewalk!
