  • Hi I was wondering I havea cage that looks like that size...how big does a cage have to be for an IRN and where can I get one????lol thanks!

  • Well.. I would say get as big a cage as you can afford to!.. For Hoogie the cage that size is just perfect. The important thing is the cage has to be wide enough to allow your IRN to stretch their wings. I suggest try a reputable pet shop in your area, you should be able to get it.

  • Well, we generally do trim their wings, mainly so they do get up "too high". Even with their wings trimmed/clipped they can still fly a fair bit, but not too far and too high. However, Hoogie & Spike doesn't usually like to fly anyway, they are just happy hopping around from place to place.

And yes, their wings to grow back once in a while after a molt - usually every 6-9 months. I didn't have to trim every month, only about 2-3 times a year.

  • Oh yes, I forgot to ask u a question, can they fly or did you trim their wings? I'm asking it cause in all the videos I cannot see them fly. And is it safe to trim their wing and will the feathers grow back so u must trim them every month?
