If you want fake AI like in this video you can look into algorithms for image processing. If you want real AI you should learn about neural nets (sigmoid activation function with stochastic backpropagation, write that down). Mitchell's book "Machine Learning" has a few decent pages on it albeit maybe a few errors. Implement your own and test it (not on XOR) and you are well on your way. then get familiar with reinforcement learning.

I'm the best in the world so weigh this accordingly.
