Landing at KSFO using my Virtual ILS software on Palm Treo

The Palm was connected to the FlightGear flight simulator using Bluetooth (exactly like if it was the true GPS unit - so the Palm thought it is really flying ;-)).

Virtual ILS receives the 3D GPS position and displays how much correction is needed to keep yourself flying on the proper landing course.

Now I'm waiting for someone to test it on the real plane!

Imagine if you couldn't see the runway environment due to fog or low cloud ceilings. That's the point of flying by instruments. He was just demonstrating the use of the tool, not his landing skills. He did float a little on the flare though. :)

I don't really see the advantage..It was an awful landing and a manual one would've been MUCH better.
